SkinPen Microneedling
How it works
SkinPen medical microneedling is a precision collagen-induction treatment that improves skin texture, acne scars, fine lines, and overall skin quality by activating the body’s natural repair response. Using controlled micro-channels, the treatment stimulates new collagen and elastin formation while preserving the outer skin barrier for safer healing. At Allumine Skin Clinic, microneedling can be enhanced with advanced regenerative boosters such as PRF, to accelerate recovery and amplify collagen remodeling. This makes it an excellent option for patients seeking measurable skin improvement with minimal downtime and long-term structural benefit.
Fact #1
Delay Wrinkle Formation: Besides treating existing lines, neuromodulators are often used preventatively (often called "Baby Botox") to relax muscles before deep wrinkles form, delaying the signs of aging.
Fact #2
Neuromodulators are injectable drugs derived from a purified toxin that temporarily block the nerve signals to specific muscles in the face. By preventing the treated muscles from contracting fully, they soften and relax dynamic wrinkles
Commonly Treated Areas
Neuromodulators are most commonly used for the three areas of dynamic wrinkles in the upper face:
- Glabellar Lines (Frown Lines): The vertical lines, often called the "11s," that appear between the eyebrows when you frown.
- Forehead Lines: The horizontal lines across the forehead that appear when you raise your eyebrows.
- Crow's Feet: The fine lines that radiate from the outer corners of the eyes when you smile or squint.
They are also used for non-cosmetic concerns like excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) and for other aesthetic treatments such as a "lip flip" or to slim the jawline (masseter muscles).

FAQs
Will Botox make my face look frozen or unnatural?
When Botox is dosed and placed correctly, it should soften expression lines while preserving natural movement. An over-treated or “frozen” look is typically the result of excessive units, poor injection technique, or lack of individualized facial assessment. Modern Botox treatments focus on balance, muscle dynamics, and subtlety—not complete paralysis.
Is Botox safe, and are there long-term side effects?
Botox has been extensively studied and used medically and cosmetically for decades. When administered by a trained medical provider, it is considered very safe. The most common side effects are temporary and mild, such as localized bruising or headache. Long-term adverse effects are rare and are usually associated with improper dosing, placement, or unqualified injectors.
Can I get Botox treatment if I am breastfeeding, pregnant or trying to be pregnant?
Botox is not recommended during pregnancy or while trying to conceive due to limited safety data. While it is considered low risk during breastfeeding because it is unlikely to enter breast milk, many providers recommend delaying elective treatment out of caution.
